Hello! My name is Mrs. Sims, and I’m so excited to be starting my 15th year at Hardeman. I truly love being a part of the Hardeman family—we have the best kids and parents around! This year, I’ll be teaching 3rd and 4th grade core subjects, and I also serve as the assistant principal. I graduated from Missouri Valley College with degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, and later earned my master’s degree in School Administration. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a paraprofessional in the Marshall School District for seven years. It was during that time that I realized how much I enjoyed working directly with students and making a difference in their lives. I’ve been married to my husband, Jeff, for 29 years. He works hard raising pigs, and I’m so proud of the dedication he puts into his work every day. Together, we’ve raised four wonderful children. My oldest daughter is now married and has two children—Rhett (8) and Macie (4)—who definitely keep us busy! My son Steven works as the Concession and Events Coordinator at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Kylie is working in Sedalia, and my youngest, Katie, teaches 8th grade ELA—also in Sedalia. It’s hard to believe how fast time flies! I sure miss the days when my own kids were here at Hardeman. This year, we have 12 amazing students in our class, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know each one of them—and their families! If you ever need anything, I’m always just a phone call or an email away. My planning period is from 12:50 to 1:40, and you can reach me at [email protected]. Thank you for all your support. I know we’re going to have a great year together!
