Hello and welcome to my webpage. I am delighted to be here doing my part to inspire and challenge all the Hardeman students. This is my 25th year as a teacher here and my 16th year as the principal. I know without a doubt that I am truly blessed to work in a learning environment that is second to none.
We plan to be very busy in English Language Arts as we completely implement the Missouri Learning Standards. We are doing daily language and vocabulary skills with our students. We are also meeting multiple standards using iReady, IXL and BrainPOP educational resources. They will read several lit sets throughout this quarter which will include some of my favorites such as A Night Divided, Transall Saga, Wenny Has Wings, Night of the Howling Dogs just to name a few. In 7-8 social studies we are starting off learning about early explorers, early American colonies, United States expansionism, etc. I look forward to teaching the students a variety of themes this year. We have lots to learn.
Now for a little about myself... I am a busy mother of two boys and a step-daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching my boys play sports, reading, gardening, teaching, walking, hiking, and camping (when the weather is nice). I have lived in the Hardeman community since 1997 and am glad to have made this area my home. We are just a hop, skip, and jump from civilization, but yet secluded when we want to be; I guess you could say it's the best of both worlds :).
