My name is Nancy Meyer and I am your new Music Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. I was born in California, however moved to Slater when I was just eight years old. I graduated from Slater High School in 1991 and traveled to Central Methodist College (now University) to pursue a degree in Music Education. I played in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band and sung with the Choralettes (all girls choir). I was also featured as a soloist for 3 years with the Concert Band.
Southwest Livingston in Ludlow, Bosworth, St. Mary's in Glasgow and St. Peter's School are just a few schools I have taught in. I took a 10 year break from teaching to be a mom. During that break, I did work at Slater General Store and Slater PD as a dispatcher before the 911 became to be.
My husband Bill and I have 2 children, Linzy (18) and Liam (9). Bill works as a self employed farmer after retiring from 27 years as an Engineer at American Commercial Lines. My daughter Linzy is a Freshman at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville majoring in Dental Hygiene and Liam is a 3rd Grader at Orearville R-IV where I also teach Music part-time. He enjoys playing football with his Slater Little League team and playing basketball at Orearville. He also loves to play outside and ride his dirtbike. In my free time, I serve as the pianist at FBC in Slater and spend time with my family and friends. My hobbies include music, baking, shopping, and being lazy on a rainy day with a good book!
I enjoy being a part of the Hardeman Family and have enjoyed learning and growing with the kids. Thank you for sharing your children with me!
